Pastas (and the southern versions - grits and rice) are the ideal bachelor meal. You can cook a big batch of sauce on the weekend (I'm going to make a batch of Florentine sauce tonight) and then, during the week, all you have to do is cook the pasta, and warm just enough sauce for a serving. Tomato sauces help prevent "guy problems" and other kinds add variety. They're fairly nutritious and, if you use whole grain pasta and/or watch your serving size, it's not too fattening. You can even add vegetables (Florentine has spinach in it).
Babe...when are you going to get married...I mean SERIOUSLY we have to find you someone.

Heh, if you can find someone who can put up with me.......

Pasta isn't necessarily as good for you as spinach but pasta with spinach is and spinach in pasta sauce tastes surprisingly different than spinach cooked as spinach - it sorta reminds me of oysters.

If you're curious, Florentine is easy enough to make. Take a small carton of whipping cream get it hot (but try not to let it boil - a little boiling won't hurt but you want to take it off the heat for a few seconds it it starts to boil), add a cup or two of shredded Parmesan cheese and stir it in until it melts - use the real stuff, not the stuff in the little green cans. Add in garlic to taste and then add in a cup or a cup and a half of cooked spinach. Heat it through and put it on the pasta. It's best with big pasta like penne, rotellini, or fettuccine. I've had lasagna made with Florentine sauce - woof!
